Given info : The current flowing through a p-n junction Si diode is 60mA for a forward bias of 0.9 v at 300K

To find : The static resistance and dynamic resistance of diode are ...

solution : static resistance = voltage/current flowing through p - n junction = V/I = 0.9v/60 mA

= 15 Ω

dynamic resistance for Si diode, r = 26η/I , where I is in mA

for Si , η = 2 and given I = 60

so, r = (26 × 2)/(60)

= 0.87Ω

Therefore static and dynamic resistances are 15Ω and 0.87 Ω respectively.
