Current becomes half when resistance is doubled

Because resistance is inversely proportional to current

R∞1/I

Mathematical Way :

R = V/i

When, new i' becomes half than original one,

R' = V/i' where i' = 1/2 i

R' = V/( 1/2 i )

R' = 2 V/i

Now, R'/R = ( 2 V/i ) × ( i/V )

R'/R = 2 ⇒ R' = 2 × R

Hence the new resistance will be double.

Theoritical Way :

Resistance and Current are two inversely proportional value where if curent will be double then Resistance will be halfed and if current is halfed then resistance will be doubled.
