The current which does not changes its direction is known DIRECT CURRENT (DC).
- This type of current represents a unidirectional, constant flow of electric charges (e.g. electrons).
- The direction of flow of electrons or charge carriers do not change with time.
- A classic example of direct current is the current flowing through an electrochemical cell generated by putting two electrodes of different materials in a solution.
- Direct current has many uses like charging batteries, large supplies to big motors.
- Direct current is less dangerous to humans as compared to alternating current as they do not induce any tetanic contraction in the muscles.
- Kindly look at the current-time graph to understand direct current with respect to other types of pulsating currents.
Hope It Helps.
