Answer:

The diameter is 5.38 m and height is 17.384

Step-by-step explanation:

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

Since we are given that The curved surface area of a cylindrical pillar is 294 sq.m

So,2πrh=294  --1

Volume of cylinder = \pi r^{2} h

Since we are given that  volume of a cylindrical pillar is 396 m cube .

So,  \pi r^{2} h=396

\pi r* r * h=396   --2

Substitute the value of r*h from 1 in 2

\pi r*\frac{294}{2 \pi}=396

r*147=396

r=2.693

Diameter = 2*2.693 = 5.38 m

Substitute the value in 1

2*3.14*2.693*h=294

16.91204*h=294

h=17.384

Hence the diameter is 5.38 m and height is 17.384
