Answer :

›»› The height of a cylinder is 5 cm.

Given :

  • The curved surface area of a cylinder is 110 cm² and its diameter is 7 cm.

To Find :

  • The height of a cylinder.

How to solve?

Here in this question we have to find the height of cylinder. So, firstly we need to find the radius of the cylinder, after that we will find the height of a cylinder on the basis of conditions given above.

To find the radius of a cylinder, we will divide the diameter value by 2.

To find the height of a cylinder we use the formula of Curved surface area of cylinder.

Solution :

Finding radius of a cylinder:

→ Diameter = 7 cm.

→ Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

→ Radius = 7 ÷ 2

Radius = 3.5.

Let us assume that, the height of a cylinder is h cm.

To find the height of a cylinder, we use the formula:-

❰ CSA of cylinder = 2πrh ❱

  • CSA of cylinder = 110 cm².
  • The value of π is 22/7.
  • Radius (r) = 3.5 cm.
  • Height (h) = ?

According to given question,

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

→ 110 = 2 * 22/7 * 3.5 * h

→ 110 = 2 * 22 * 0.5 * h

→ 110 = 44 * 0.5 * h

→ 110 = 22 * h

→ 110 = 22h

→ h = 110/22

h = 5

Hence, the height of a cylinder is 5 cm.

Answer:

Given :-

  • The curved surface area of a cylinder is 110 cm² and its diameter is 7 cm.

To Find :-

  • What is the height of a cylinder.

Formula Used :-

\boxed{\bold{\small{Curved\: surface\: area\: of\: cylinder\: =\: 2πrh}}}

Solution :-

First we have to find the radius of the given diameter is 7 cm,

Radius = \dfrac{Diameter}{2}

Radius = \dfrac{7}{2}

Radius = 3.5 cm

Now, we have to find the curved surface area of a cylinder,

Given :

  • Curved surface area = 110 cm²
  • Radius = 3.5 cm

According to the question by using the formula we get,

110 = 2 × \dfrac{22}{7} × 3.5 × h

110 = 2 × 11 × h

110 = 22h

22h = 110

h = \sf\dfrac{\cancel{110}}{\cancel{22}}

h = 5 cm

\therefore The height of a cylinder is 5 cm .
