the curved surface area of a cylinder of height 28 cm is 352 sq.cm. find the diameter of the base of the cylinder​

Given :

  • height is 28cm
  • curved surface area of cylinder is 352cm²

To find :

  • Diamter of the base of the cylinder

Solution :

As we know that :

  • curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

where h is 28cm , CSA is 352cm² and radius = ?

➙ curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

➙ 352 = 2 × 22/7 × r × 28

➙ 352 = 44/7 × r × 28

➙ 352 = 44 × 4 × r

➙ 352 = 176 × r

➙ r = 352/176

➙ r = 2cm

Hence , Radius is 2cm

Now we have to find the Diameter of the base of cylinder:

As we know that :

  • Diameter = 2 × r

where r is 2cm

➙ 2 × 2

➙ 4cm

Hence ,Diameter of base of cylinder is 4cm
