Given:

  • Circumference of the base = 22 cm

  • Height of cylinder = 3 m = 3 × 100 cm = 300 cm

To find out:

Find the Curved surface area of a cylinder?

Formula used:

  • Circumference = 2πr

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

Solution:

Circumference of base = 22cm

⇒ 2 π r = 22

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × r = 22

⇒ r = 22 × 7 / 2 × 22

⇒ r = 22 × 7 / 44

⇒ r = 7 / 2

Now,

Curved surface area = 2 π r h

⇒ 2 × 22 / 7 × 7 / 2 × 300

⇒ 44/7 × 7/2 × 300

⇒ 22 × 300

⇒ 6600 cm²

Hence, the Curved surface area of given cylinder is 6600 cm²m

Additional information:

  • Volume of cone = ⅓ × π × r² × h

  • Curved surface area of cone = π × r × l

  • Total surface area of cone = π × r ( r + l )

\large\underline\mathrm{Given:-}

• Circumference of the base = 22 cm

• Height of the cylinder = 3m

= 3 × 100cm

= 300cm

Find the curved surface area of a cylinder?

\large\underline\mathrm{Solution}

circumference of the base = 22 cm

\implies 2πr = 22

\implies 2 × 22/7 × r = 22

\implies r = (22 × 7)/(2 × 22)

\implies r = 7/2

Curved surface area = 2πrh

\implies 2 × 22/7 × 300

\implies 44/7 × 7/2 × 300

\implies 22 × 300

\implies 6600cm²
