Given :

  • Curved Surface Area of right circular cylinder = 4.4m²
  • Radius of base = 0.7 m

To find :

(i) Height

(ii) Volume

Formula used :

  • CSA of right circular cylinder = 2πrh
  • Volume of right circular cylinder = πr²h

Solution :

(i) 2πrh = 4.4 m²

\implies \sf \: 2 \times  \dfrac{22}{7} \times  0.7 \times h = 4.4 \\  \\ \implies \sf \: h \:  =  \frac{4.4 \times 7}{2 \times 22 \times 0.7}  \\  \\ \implies \sf \: h \:  = 1 \: m

 \sf \: (ii) volume \:  =   \pi {r}^{2}h \:  \\ \\  \implies  \sf \:  volume  =  \:  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times ( {0.7}^{2}) \times 1  \\  \\ \implies \sf \: volume \:  =  \dfrac{22 \times 0.49}{7} \\  \\ \implies \sf \: \bold{ volume \:  =  1.54 \:  {m}^{3} }

ANSWER :

(i) Height = 1 m

(ii) Volume = 1.54

Let the height of the right circular cylinder be h m.

r=0.7m

Curved surface area = 4.4m²

\longrightarrow 2πrh=4.4

\longrightarrow 2 × \small\dfrac{22}{7} × 0.7 × h = 4.4

\longrightarrow 4.4h = 4.4

\longrightarrow h = 1m
