Given:-

  • Height,h = 14 m

  • Curved surface area of a right circular cylinder = 88 cm²

To find out:-

Find the diameter of the base of the cylinder ?

Formula used:-

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

Solution:-

We know that,

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

★ Substituting the values in the above formula,we get:

⇒ 88 = 2 × 22/7 × r × 14

⇒ 88 = 44/7 × r × 14

⇒ 88 = 44 × 2 × r

⇒ 88 = 88 × r

⇒ r = 88/88

⇒ r = 1 cm

Now,

Diameter = 2( Radius )

= 2 × 1

= 2 cm

Hence,the diameter of the base of the cylinder is 2 cm.

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

  • C.S.A of Cylinder = 88cm²
  • Height = 14cm
  • Diameter = ?

Using Formula : -

\longmapsto\tt{\small{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\blue{\sf{C.S.A\:of\:Cylinder=2\pi{rh}}}}}}}}

Putting Values : -

\longmapsto\tt{88=2\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times{r}\times{14}}

\longmapsto\tt{88\times{7}=22\times{2}\times{r}\times{14}}

\longmapsto\tt{616=616r}

\longmapsto\tt{r=\cancel\dfrac{616}{616}}

\red\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\green{r}\orange{=}\purple{1}}}

So , The Radius is 1cm...

Now ,

As we know that Diameter is double of Radius.So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Diameter=2r}

\longmapsto\tt{2(1)}

\longmapsto\tt{2cm}

So , The Radius is 2cm...
