ANSWER:

  • Diameter of the cylinder = 2 cm.

GIVEN:

  • C.S.A of cylinder = 88 cm².

  • Height = 14 cm

TO FIND:

  • Diameter of the cylinder.

EXPLANATION:

C.S.A of cylinder = 2πrh

Radius = r

Diameter = d = 2r

Height = 14 cm

2πrh = 88

d = (7 × 88) ÷ (22 × 14)

d = 4/2

d = 2 cm

HENCE THE DIAMETER OF THE CYLINDER= 2 cm.

SOME MORE FORMULAE:

  • C.S.A of cone = 1/3πrl [ Here l is the slant height and  l = \sqrt{r^2 + h^2} ]

  • C.S.A of sphere = 4πr²

  • C.S.A of hemisphere =2πr²

  • Voulme of cone = 1/3 πr²h

  • Voulme of cylinder = πr²h

  • Volume of sphere = 4/3 πr³

  • Volume of hemisphere = 2/3 πr³
