Given :- Height (h) of a cylinder = 14 cm

Curved surface area of a cylinder = 88 sq. cm

Curved Surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh sq. unit

According to the question,

2\pi \: rh = 88

 =  > 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times r \times 14 = 88 \:  \:  \: (taking \: \pi =  \frac{22}{7} )

 =  > 2 \times 22 \times r \times 2 = 88

 =  > 88 \times r = 88

 =  > r =  \frac{88}{88}

 =  > r = 1

Radius of a cylinder = 1 cm.

therefore, Diameter = 2* r

= 2 * 1 cm.

= 2 cm.

Answer :- Diameter of the base of a cylinder is 2 cm.
