the curved surface area of a right circular cylinder of height 14 cm is 88 cm2. find the diameter of the base of the cylinder.

C.S.A OF CYLINDER= 2πrh = 88cm²

Given,

h = 14 cm

r=?

ATQ,

2πrh = 88

2×22/7×r×14 = 88

2×22×r×2 = 88

88r = 88

r =88/88

r = 1 cm

Curved surface of cylinder =
2\pi \: rh
2 * 22/7 * r * 14 = 88 cm^2
2 * 22 * r * 2 = 88 cm^2
r = 88/2 * 22 * 2
r = 88/88
r = 1
so now we know that the diameter is twice of the radius...
d = 2 * r
d = 2 * 1
d = 2
