Height (h) of cylinder = 14 cm

Let the diameter of the cylinder be d.

Curved surface area of cylinder = 88 cm2

⇒ 2πrh = 88 cm2 (r is the radius of the base of the cylinder)

⇒ πdh = 88 cm2 (d = 2r)



⇒ d = 2 cm

Therefore, the diameter of the base of the cylinder is 2 cm.

here's ur answer...

given the height of the cylinder is 14cm.

CSA of the cylinder=88cm²

therefore 2πrh=88cm²

→2×22/7×r×14=88cm²

→44×r×2=88cm²

→r×2=88/44

→r×2=2

→r=2/2

→r=1cm

verification:-

CSA of cylinder=2πrh

=2×22/7×1×14

=44×2

=88cm²

thus the radius of the cylinder is 1cm.

we know diameter is double of radius therefore diameter is=2×1

=2cm
