To find :

Diameter of cylinder

Formula used :

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
  • Diameter = 2×radius

Solution :

First of all we need to find radius of base of cylinder from formula of area of cylinder and thereafter we will find diameter

\sf \implies \:  220 cm^2  \: = \:  2  \:  \times  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times \: 14cm  \times r

\sf \implies \:  220 cm^2  \: = \:   \dfrac{44}{7}  \times \: 14cm  \times r

\sf \implies \:  220 cm^2  \: = \:   44  \times \: 2cm  \times r

\sf \implies \:  220 cm^2  \: = \:   88cm  \times r

\sf \implies \:  r  \:  =   \: \dfrac{220 cm^2}{  \: \:   88cm   }
