To Find  : best predicted value for y given x=92

Solution:

x y

85 7

91 10

90 10

88 8

98 15

75 4

100 15

80 5

Using graphing calculator  line of best fit is :

y = 0.448x - 30.26

R² = 0.960  close to 1

Substitute

x = 92

y = 0.448(92) - 30.26

=> y = 10.956

=> y ≈ 11
