* Physiological data collecting has some unique issues that aren't often seen in HCI studies. Researchers must be in direct physical touch with their participants in order to employ data sources that truly measure the body.

*  It may be as easy as inserting an electrode on a finger tip to assess galvanic skin reaction or blood volume. Surface electrodes (for EKG or EMG) and chest-mounted sensors (for respiration measures) are far more difficult to use. To achieve high-quality recording of the necessary data, these electrodes must be properly connected in the proper location.
