My best friend was great at concocting stories and put me into trouble once because of this. Once he told a lie to his parents that he will sleepover at my place for a group study, and went to the pub with his other friends for a night out.
Suddenly his father called at the middle of the night informing that his mother has gone ill and he needed to be at home quickly. But I was unable to say the truth or contact him either.
On the verge of getting caught I started crying and his father caught me red-handed. I told him the truth and he admitted that he lied too to bring out the truth as he had suspicion about his son’s whereabouts.
Finally when he reached home the next morning, his father gave him a piece of mind and since then we are hardly in touch with each other.
