The Dead Sea lies about 1300 feet below sea level and is the lowest place on the Earth 's surface. At the Dead Sea would air pressure be greater or lesser than at sea level?(Hint Consider the opposite situation-is air pressure greater or lesser at high altitudes, such as Denver,Colorado?)

As the altitude increases, the pressure decreases. So as the altitude decreases, the pressure will increase. So air pressure will be greater at the dead sea than the sea level.

TPS: Since dead sea is 1300 feet below the sea level, the height of air column above dead sea will be larger than the height of air column above sea level. So the pressure will be more at dead sea.

The dead sea lies about 1300 feet below sea level and is the lowest place on the Earth 's surface so the height of air column above dead sea will be larger than the height of air column above sea level. Hence there will be more pressure at dead sea.
