46/24.5 can be written as (2 x 46)/ ( 2 x 24.5) = 92/49 . decimals only terminate if the factors of the denominator are only either 2 or 5 or both.
Since 49 is a factor of 7 so the decimal representation of 46/24.5 will not terminate.
