article (The) is used before the particular thing or it is also used in names of an individual.

we use the before countable nouns (singular as well as plural) and uncountable nouns in order to specify a person place or thing.

* The man standing there looks familiar.
* she bought a book for you. The book is a novel

we use the before :-

* and now becoming particular or definite by being mentioned for the second time as
