It is E2 bimolecular reaction where alcohol is heated with sulphuric acid at high temperature.

Here, OH- ion donates electrons to protons present in sulphuric acid and this leads to formation of Alkyloxonium ion.

Generally, primary alcohol is heated in bimolecular reaction to overcome difficulty in forming primary carbocation.
