The French women were active participants in the French Revolution. They hoped to gain certain rights for themselves through the revolution. Women organized themselves into various groups to voice their demands. The main demands of the French women were −

(1) Granting of political rights to women which included the right to vote, the right to be elected to the assembly and to hold political office.

(2) Right to equality in education and public life.

(3) Increased say with respect to their marriage and divorce.
