the denominator of a certain fraction is 9 more than the numerator . it is 6 is added to both terms of the fraction. the value of the fraction becomes ⅔. find the original fraction​

Answer:

let numerator be x

so denominator will be x+9

so original fraction is x/x+9

now 6 is added to numerator and denominator

so fraction now is x+6/x+15

they said this value is 2/3

so;

x+6/x+15 = 2/3

Cross multiply

3x+18 = 2x+30

x = 12

Now after finding value of x, substitute it in the original fraction

==> 12/12+9

==> 12/21 OR 4/7
