Hey there this is your answer...!!!

no =2x−12x−1+1x+1 = 53

Numerator =xdenominator =

Numerator =xdenominator =2x−12x−1+1x+1 = 53 2xx+1 = 53 5x+5=6xx=5fraction is95

Numerator =xdenominator =2x−12x−1+1x+1 = 53 2xx+1 = 53 5x+5=6xx=5fraction is95

hope this helps you...!!!

Given :

  • The denominator of a fraction is 1 less than twice its numerator. if 1 is added to numerator and dinominator respectively,the ratio of numerator to dinominator is 3:5.

To Find :

  • Required Fraction = ?

Answer :

  • Let Numerator be x and Denominator be y.

  • Required Fraction = x/y

It is given that,the denominator of a fraction is 1 less than twice its numerator :]

  • y = 2x - 1 .....[Equation (i)]

According to Question now :

→ (x + 1)/(y + 1) = 3/5

Cross multiplying both the sides :

→ 5(x + 1) = 3(y + 1)

→ 5x + 5 = 3y + 3

Combining like terms :

→ 5 - 3 = 3y - 5x

→ 2 = 3y - 5x .......[Equation (ii)]

Now, Substitute the equation (i) in equation (ii) :

→ 2 = 3(2x - 1) - 5x

→ 2 = 6x - 3 - 5x

→ 2 = x - 3

→ 5 = x

x = 5

Now, Substitute value of x = 5 in equation (i) :

→ y = 2x - 1

→ y = 2(5) - 1

→ y = 10 - 1

y = 9

Therefore,required fraction is 5/9.
