let numerator be x
denominator=2x+1
x+5/2x+1+5=3/5
x+5/2x+6=3/5
5(x+5)=3(2x+6)
5x+25=6x+18
5x-6x=18-25
x=7
numerator=7
denominator=2*7+1=15
fraction=7/15

Let the numerator of the fraction be x.

Then the denominator will be 1 more than twice its denominator = 2x + 1.

Now, we have to consider the given fraction in the question as x/2x + 1. ---- (1)

Given that numerator and denominator is increased by 5, it becomes 3/5.

x + 5/2x + 1 + 5 = 3/5

5(x + 5) = 3(2x + 1 + 5)

5x + 25 = 6x + 18

5x - 6x = 18 - 25

-x = - 7

x = 7.

Substitute x = 7 in (1), we get

The original fraction = 7/2(7) + 1

                                   = 7/15.

Therefore the original fraction = 7/15.

Hope this helps!
