the denominator of a fraction is 2 more than the numerator. lf 7 is added to both parts the resulting fraction is equivalent to 5/6. find the fraction

Let

Numerator = x

Denominator = 2+x

(x+7)/(x+9)=5/6

By cross multiplication

6(x+7)=5(x+9)

6x+42=5x+45

6x-5x=45-42

x=3
