Let the numerator be x and denominator be x+3.

$\longrightarrow\frac{x+4}{x+7 }=\frac{4}{5} \\\\\longrightarrow5(x+4)=4(x+7)\\\\\longrightarrow 5x+20=4x+28\\\\\longrightarrow5x-4x=28-20\\\\\longrightarrow x=8$
