let the numerator be x and then the denominator be x+3

given that,

2 is added to the numerator and 5 is added to the denominator

new numerator =x+2

new denominator =x+3+5

i.e. x+8

now the fraction:-

x+2/x+8=1/2

2(x+2)=1(x+8)     (By cross multiplication)

2x+4=x+8

2x-x=8-4

x=4

now ,

the numerator=x=4

and the denominator =x+3=4+3=7

hence the faction is 4/7
