Answer :-

Fraction is 5/9

Explanation :-

Let the numerator of the fraction be x

Denominator of the fraction = 4 more than its numberator = (x + 4)

Given

Subtracting one from each numerator and the denominator the fraction becomes 1/2

⇒ (x - 1)/{(x + 4) - 1} = 1/2

⇒ (x - 1)/(x + 4 - 1) = 1/2

⇒ (x - 1)/(x + 3) = 1/2

By cross multiplication

⇒ 2(x - 1) = 1(x + 3)

⇒ 2x - 2 = x + 3

⇒ 2x - x = 3 + 2

⇒ x = 5

Numerator of the fraction = x = 5

Denominator of the fraction = (x + 4) = (5 + 4) = 9

Fraction = x/(x + 4) = 5/9
