Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be X

Denominator = X+4

Fraction =

 \frac{x}{x + 4}  \\

Subtracting 1 from each numerator and denominator, we get

 \frac{x - 1}{x  + 3}  \\

Now according to the question,

 \frac{x - 1}{x  + 3} =  \frac{1}{2}  \\  =  > 2x - 2 = x + 3 \\  =  > 2x - x = 3 + 2 \\  =  > x = 5

Fraction =

 \frac{x}{x + 4}   =  \frac{5}{5 + 4}  =  \frac{5}{9}
