EXPLANATION.

Let the numerator of the fraction be = x

Let the denominator of the fraction be = x + 4

If 1 is added to the numerator and 2 is

added to the denominator. fraction

become 4/5.

=> x + 1 / x + 4 + 2 = 4/5

=> x + 1 / x + 6 = 4/5

=> 5 ( x + 1 ) = 4 ( x + 6 )

=> 5x + 5 = 4x + 24

=> x = 19

Therefore,

Numerator of fraction = x = 19

Denominator of fraction = x + 4 = 19 + 4 = 23

Fraction become = 19/23.

Given :-

  • The denominator of a fraction is 4 more than the numerator.

  • If 1 added to the numerator and 2 is added to the denominator, the value of the fraction becomes 4/5.

To Find :-

  • The Original Fraction.

Solution :-

☯️ Let,

Numerator = x.

Denominator = x + 4.

So, Now, According To The Question,

⇒ x + 1/x + 4 + 2 = 4/5.

⇒ x + 1/x + 6 = 4/5.

⇒ 5(x + 1) = 4(x + 6).

⇒ 5x + 5 = 4x + 24.

⇒ 5x - 4x = 24 - 5.

⇒ x = 19.

So,

◕ Numerator = x = 19.

◕ Denominator = x + 4 = 23.

The Original Fraction = 19/23.
