the denominator of a fraction is 4 more than twice of numerator. when both numerator and denominator are decreased by 6 then the denominator becomes 12 times of numerator find the fraction

let the fraction be x/y
therefore,y=2x+4........1
hence,
(x-6)/(y-6),
y-6=12(x)=12(2x+4)           (from 1)
12x=24x+48
12x=-48
  x=-4
so,
y=2x+4=2(-4)+4
            =-8+4=-4
the fraction is x/y=-4/-4=1/1
