The denominator of a fraction is 4 + numerator. If both the numerator and the denominator of a fraction are increased by one, the resulting fraction equals 1/2....please help with complete solution❤​

let the fraction be x/y

given,

denominator (y)=4+x(numerator)

i.e, x/4+x

now if both are increased by 1 it makes 1/2

so,

x+1/4+x+1=1/2

x+1/5+x=1/2

x+1=5+x/2

2(x+1)=5+x

2x+2=5+x

x=5-2

x=3

the fraction will be

3/3+4

3/7
