Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be x

Then denominator be ( x + 5)

The rational number = x/x+5

A/Q:-

=> x-1 /( x +5)+2 = 1 /5

=>x-1 /x+7 = 1 /5

=> 5 ( x-1) = 1 (x+7)

=> 5x - 5 = x + 7

=> 5x - x = 7 +5

=> 4x =12

x = 12/4

x = 3

Numerator = x = 3

Denominator =x + 5 = 3 + 5 = 8

Original no. = 3/8
