Answer:

3/11

Step-by-step explanation:

Let be numerator as x. denominator 8 more than numerator.

x / x+8

5 added to both and the fraction is equal to 1/2

(x+5) / (x+8+5) = 1/2

2x+10 = x+13

x= 3

So the fraction is,

x/x+8 = 3/3+8

= 3/11

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator of the fraction be x

The denominator is 8 more than the numerator which is x + 8

Given that by adding 5 to the numerator and denominator the fraction becomes 1/2

x + 5 / x + 8 +5 = 1/2

x + 5 / x + 13 = 1/2

By cross multiplying we get

2( x + 5 ) = x + 13

2x + 10 = x + 13

2x - x = 13- 10

x = 3

So the fraction is the x / x + 8 = 3/11
