Answer:

let x be the numerator and

y be the denominator.

therefore the fraction is x/y

from the condition first,

y=x+9

y-x=9

x-y=-9....(1)

from the 2nd condition

if the numerator and denominator increased by 7 then.

numerator=x+7

denominator=y+7

x+7/y+7=7/10

10x+70=7y+49

10x-7y=-70+49

10x-7y=-21.....(2)

multiply eqn (1) by 7

7x-7y=-63....(3)

subtract eqn (3) fron (2)

3x=-84

x=-28

put x=-28in eqn (1)

-28-y=-9

-y=-9+28

y=19

original fraction is -28/19
