Answer = 5/8

original fraction = x/x+3

numerator is decreased by 2 and denominator is increased by 1

the fraction is x+4/x−2 = 1/3

(x−2) 3 = x+4 [ cross multiplication]

3x−6=x+4

2x=10

x=5

x+3=8

so fraction = 5/8
