Let the numerator be x,therefore given
x/x+1 - first equation
x+14/x+16. - second equation
According to the question-
x/x+1=x+14/x+16 (1st equation=2nd equation)
x*(x+16)=(x+1)*(x+16)
x^2+16x=x^2+17x+16
x^2-x^2+16x-17x=16
-x=16
x=-16
