Answer:

let the numerator be 'x' and the Denominator be 'y' .

----the fraction is x/y.

As per the 1st condition

y=x+8

x-y=-8 ------(1)

As Per the 2nd condition

numerator=(x+17)

Denominator=(y-1)

(X+17)/(y-1)=3/2

2(x+17)=3(y-1)

2x+34=3y-3

2x-3y= -3-34

2x-3y=-37 --------(2)

Multiplying equation (1)by 3

3x-3y=-24 -------(3)

Adding equation (2)&(3)

2x-3y=-37

3x-3y=-24

_________

5x= -61

X=-61/5

X=-12.5

By putting x=-12.5 in equation 1

x-y=-8

-12.5-y= -8

-y=-8+12.5

-y=4.5

The fraction is -12.5/4.5
