the denominator of a fraction is one more then it's numerator. If the numerator is multiplied by two and the denominant is increased by 1, the resulting fraction is 5/3. Find the original fraction.

and denominator be x + 1 (given)

so.. ATQ

2x / x+1+1 = 5/3

on cross multiplying

2x*3 = 5(x+1+1)

6x = 5(x+2)

6x = 5x +10

6x - 5x = 10

x = 10..

now.. The numerator is 10

and denominator is 10+1 = 11

so the original fraction is 10/11
