Let the numerator be x

Then ,

According to the question,

The denominator will be greater than it’s

numerator by 8

Then,

The denominator is -:x + 8.

The rational will be x / x +8

According to the given cndition,

x + 17/x + 8 – 1 = 3/2

=x + 17/x + 7 = 3/2

=2(x + 17) = 3(x + 7)

=2x + 34 = 3x + 21

=34 − 21 = 3x − 2x

X = 13

Then ,

The numerator is x = 13

The denominator is = x +8 =

= 13 + 8

= 21

Therefore,

The rational number is 13/21
