the denominator of a rational no. is greater than its numerator by 6. if the numerator is increased by 3 and the denominator decreased by 3, the new no. becomes 1 . find the original no.

numerator = a

denominator = a+6

   a + 3      = 1

 a + 6 - 3


   a + 3    = 1

    a + 3


a = 1

numerator = 1

denominator = 7


fraction = 1/7
