Let the denominator be x and numerator be y.

Rational no.=y/x

Acc.to ques.

x=y+3

Again,given

y-3/x+2=1/5

or,y-3/y+3+2=1/5

or,y-3/y+5=1/5

or,5y-15=y+5

or,5y-y=5+15

or,4y=20

or,y=20/4=5

Now,x=y+3(we have considered it)

=5+3=8

Hence,original no.=5/8
