The denominator of a rational number by 5. If the numerator is invreasef by 6 and the denominator is decreased by 4,the number obtained is 3/2. Find the rational number​

let the number of the rational number =x

The denominator of the rational will be (x+8)

If the numerator is increased by 17 = (x+17)

If the denominator is decreased by 1= (x+8)-1 =x+7

therefore, the numerator is x+17

the denominator is x+7

according to the problem the rational number is= 3/2

therefore the equation will be= x+17/x+7=3/2

Cross multiplication gives us = 2(x+17) = 3(x+7)

2x+34=3x+21

2x+34-21=3x

2x+13=3x

13=3x-2x

13=x

x+8 =13+8=21

The denominator is x . The denominator is 21

therefore, the rational number is 13/21
