The denominator of a rational number is 1 less than twice the numerator. If 6 is added to both the numerator and the denominator,the number becomes 12/17. Find the rational number.

x+6/2x-1+6=12/17

17(x+6)=12(2x+5)

17x+85=24x +60

7x=25

x=25/7

2x-1=2*25/7-1= 50/7-1/1

= 50-7/50

=43/50
