Let the numerator be x

therefore, denominator= 4+x

A.T.Q

x+1/4+x+1= 1/2

x+1/5+x=1/2

2(x+1)=1(5+x)

2x+2=5+x

2x-x=5-2

x=3

therefore, numerator=3

and denominator=4+3=7

Hence, the rational number is 3/7
