The denominator of a rational number

is five more than numerator . If three is added

to both numerator and denominator the number becomes 1/2 find the rational no.​

x+3/x+5+3=1/2

=x+3/x+8=1/2

now by cross multiplication

2(x+3)=1(x+8)

2x+6=x+8

x=2

therefore,

numerator=2

denominator=x+5

=2+5=7

hence the ans is:2/7
