Step-by-step explanation:

let the numerator be N

D=N+8

Now,

new N=N+17 and

new D= N+8-1=N-7

ATQ

N+17/N-7=3/2

Now

2N+17=3N-7

17-7=3N-2N

10=N

Numerator=10

Denomination=10+8=18

Fraction=10/18

let, the numerator be x.

denominator = x+8

x+17/x+8-1 = 3/2

2(x+17) = 3(x+17)

2x+34 = 3x+21

2x-3x = 21-34

x = 13

numerator = x = 13

denominator = x+8 = 13+8 = 21

rational number = 13/21
