Answer:

let numerator be x

∴the denominator will be x+8

⇒x+17/x+8-1=3/2

⇒x+17/x+7=3/2

⇒2(x+17)=3(x+7)

⇒2x+34=3x+21

⇒34-21=3x-2x

⇒13=x

∴x/x+8

=13/21

Answer:

Fraction = 13/21

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fraction be x/y

y=x+8 - condition 1

x+17/y-1=3/2

By Substituting condition 1,

x+17/x+7=3/2

By cross multiplication,

2x+34=3x+21

Therefore, x=13

y=13+8=21

Therefore, fraction=13/21
