Answer:

Let the numerator be X

denominator= X+4

according to the question

X+(11)/X+4(-1 )= 7/3

X+11/x+3= 7/3

3(x+11)= (7) x+3

3x+33=7x+21

3x-7x= 21-33

-4x= (-12)

X= (-12)/-4

X= 12/4

X= 3

original no.= X/ X+4

= 3/3+4

= 3/7

Answer:

Let us take x to be the numerator and y to be the denominator.

Alright, so y=x+4

Therefore,

x/x+4 is the fraction

so x+11/x+4-1 = 7/3

Now Cross Multiply

3(x+11)= 7(x+3)

3x+33= 7x+21

4x=12

x=3

x+4=y= 7

So the original fraction was 3/7 which then became 14/6
